And the tradition lives on… Yet again, we hosted our annual Easter Party this year. It’s a tradition we’ve kept going for the better part of 8 or 9 years, and we were thrilled to have a large crew over again this year, even though we changed the day and time at the last moment! You see, weather plays a large role with this party, and we had to move it up a day to miss a storm this year. Everyone was great about being flexible, and we had a great time.
Chinese Proverb: “You cannot prevent the birds of sadness from passing over your head, but you can prevent their making a nest in your hair.”
Our Take: “You cannot prevent the birds of Siena, Italy from passing over your head, nor can you prevent their making a mess in your hair.”
Aspen found this out firsthand in July 2008. While enjoying a picnic lunch in the Piazza del Campo, her head became a bird’s bulls-eye. As she reached up with her napkin to wipe the bird poop out of her hair, I yelled for her to stop.
Do you think Lindy liked this? Absolutely, she was all over some eggs in the toddler area, and loved every minute of it. She also likes to say, “Egg!” a great deal.
The eggs were everywhere. Seriously. Oakley found herself a nice bunch. And yes, it was cold this year. As in 42 degrees!
