Six

This afternoon, I walked through the garage, and I noticed the hula hoops, piled up behind the ball bin. The looked sad. Just six months ago, hula hoops were all the rage… at school, at home, in this awesome video… And now, they sit, restless, useless, tossed aside.

When Oakley got home, it occurred to me to ask her what had overtaken the hula hoop…

Tim: Oakley, what are you into at recess these days? What did you do at recess today?
Oakley: Talked to [name redacted] about “six”.
Tim: What?
Oakley: I talked with [name redacted] about “six“.
Tim: What’s “six”?
Oakley: When her parents get naked in their bed and kiss and stuff.
Tim: Uh, really?
Oakley: Yeah.
Tim: How does she know about that?
Oakley: Well, she doesn’t like to sleep, so she goes and watches them every night.
Tim: Really? What do you say?
Oakley: Well, I don’t know, I just told her that my parents don’t do that.
