Six

This afternoon, I walked through the garage, and I noticed the hula hoops, piled up behind the ball bin. The looked sad. Just six months ago, hula hoops were all the rage… at school, at home, in this awesome video… And now, they sit, restless, useless, tossed aside.

When Oakley got home, it occurred to me to ask her what had overtaken the hula hoop…

Tim: Oakley, what are you into at recess these days? What did you do at recess today?
Oakley: Talked to [name redacted] about “six”.
Tim: What?
Oakley: I talked with [name redacted] about “six“.
Tim: What’s “six”?
Oakley: When her parents get naked in their bed and kiss and stuff.
Tim: Uh, really?
Oakley: Yeah.
Tim: How does she know about that?
Oakley: Well, she doesn’t like to sleep, so she goes and watches them every night.
Tim: Really? What do you say?
Oakley: Well, I don’t know, I just told her that my parents don’t do that.

Good Lord, what does Oakley think our family is named after? I’m not sure I can ever show my face again! Thank goodness you and Jenn are the models of complete abstinence ;)

Thank you for being me and my husband’s entertainment tonight! Thanks what you get for asking about the state of the sad hula hoops. Thank God you were home to deal with that and not jenn! I love that Oakley may need the Created by God Class earlier than Aspen!!!

I imagine that you got away with this really, really easy. It can only get more interesting! But jeez, in the first grade?!
