Hours of fall fun for little hands. Plus, it’s easy as pie – pumpkin pie, that is!

Pumpkin Pie Play Dough

given to me years ago by my friend Karen
makes a ton – easily halved

  • 5 1/2 cups flour
  • 2 cups salt
  • 8 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 1/2 ounces pumpkin pie spice (whole container)
  • 3/4 cup oil
  • red and yellow food coloring to make orange
  • 4 cups water

Mix all ingredients together. Cook and stir over medium heat until lumps disappear and it begins to pull away from the pan. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface until smooth. Let it cool, and then it’s play dough time!

For added fun, we like to use Halloween and fall-themed cookie cutters, garlic presses, and mini rolling pins. Store in an airtight container or place in treat bags to give out on Halloween instead of candy.

We love the pumpkin pie play dough! We had so much fun with it last year, we decided to make our own Christmas play dough! We did red cinnamon or peppermint and green with evergreen scent.
